  • Dear Staffordville Families,

We’ve been busy here at Staffordville!  The students are working hard and having lots of fun!  I enjoy visiting the classrooms and watching the students engage in learning activities.  I also love to have the children come to my office when they have been recognized for showing kindness or for their academic accomplishments.   We started the year with a focus on kindness with our Kindness Counts program.  This month, we will add a focus on listening called Listening Learners.  Our October Village meetings were a huge success!  At these assemblies, selected classes share something they’ve been learning, and we also announce the Staffordville Duckling Awards.  The next Village Meetings will be Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 10:15 AM for all kindergarten classes and morning Pre-K students, and 1:15 PM for all first grade classes and afternoon Pre-K students.  You will be notified if your child is receiving an award and/or if your child’s class is performing at the one of the December Village Meetings.

Thanks to the Staffordville School PTO for supporting our school and our students!  We appreciate their monetary donations for school trips/activities, fundraising efforts with Yankee Candle, the Basil’s and Ice Cream Depot nights, and Staffordville’s entry in the Scarecrow Decorating Contest – we won 2nd Place!  We appreciate all of the parents, family members, PTO officers, and staff members for all they do to help our school community!

During the winter months, our school will be collecting pennies for families in our community in need of heating oil.  Warming Families Makes Cents is an organization run by a local student and her family.  Please donate your spare pennies; each grade level has a tube to fill!  Thank you in advance for your generosity.

We look forward to seeing parents/guardians at report card conferences, which will be held on November 2oth and 21st.  Please be sure to note the Pre-K schedules and the dismissal times for those days as well as November 22nd, the day before Thanksgiving.

Thank you for all you do to help your child to be successful at school.  Getting a good night’s sleep, eating a healthy breakfast and arriving to school on time help to ensure that everyone is ready to learn and do their best.  We appreciate your help with homework, read-at-home time, and communication with teachers.  We welcome any suggestions you may have to improve our programs.  The Staffordville community is fortunate to have such wonderful families to work with!
